AIM OF THE GAME
The objective of Red Dog is to
predict whether the value of a randomly selected card
falls between the value of two cards drawn previously by
the dealer. In this game, the value of any card from 2 to
10 counts at face value, a jack counts as 11, a queen as
12, a king as 13, and an ace counts as 14. One deck of 52
cards is used.
The cards are shuffled after
each round of play.
Red Dog Poker is a traditional
casino card game which is showing something of a revival
thanks to online casinos. It's a really simple game to
learn and the best bit is that the casinos only enjoy a
small house advantage.
Technically the game of Red
Dog Poker does not belong in the family of Poker games.
The player does not play against the dealer or the other
players at the table only against the cards the player is
dealt.
How To Play
In many ways the game of Red
Dog Poker is unlike any other card game in that the hands
are ranked by a spread. In Red Dog Poker the spread refers
to the distance between the cards. An example of this
would be if the player is dealt a 2 and a 9 the spread is
6 because that is how many cards are between the 2 cards
dealt.
The game of Red dog Poker has
only 1 bet and it is placed before the cards are dealt.
The payout depends on the distance of the cards. If you
are dealt a 2 and a king you will win less then if you are
dealt a 2 and a 4, so the smaller the distance the higher
the payoff in Red Dog Poker.
The rules of Red dog Poker are
easy 2 cards are dealt. After the 2 cards are dealt the
lower of the 2 cards will be placed on the players left
and the higher card will be placed on the right. At this
point the Red Dog Poker player has the option the raise
the bet. After the player has decided if they are going to
raise the bet, the 3rd card is dealt. If the card is
between the value of the 1st 2 cards dealt the player wins
if the 3rd card is not between the other 2 cards the
player loses. If the first 2 cards are the same the hand
is a push and the bet will be returned, but a 3rd card is
still drawn and if that card matches the other two the
player wins 11 times their bet.
Card Values
- Cards are ranked from
2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace, with 2 being
lowest and Ace being highest.

between the first two cards dealt.
The third card is equal to
either of the first 2 cards dealt.
